Directions
Butter in a nonstick skillet melts over medium heat. Stir onion until it browns, about 5 minutes. Transfer to plate.
Combine remaining 1 tablespoon butter, rosemary, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Spread one side of each bread slice.
Put one buttered-side-down slice of bread in the skillet. Add onion, mozzarella, American, and provolone. Put another buttered slice of bread on top. Cook 3 minutes until golden brown. Flip with a spatula and cook for 3 minutes more until second side is browned and cheeses melt.
