Taco Bake Recipe

If you enjoy tacos, you'll love this taco bake. It's loaded with meat, beans, and cheese, topped with tortilla chips and a selection of fresh garnishes.

I frequently bring out bowls of various toppings and allow everyone to create their own dishes for a fun and engaging supper.

This recipe begins with ground beef that is cooked in a skillet with onions, tomatoes, and taco seasoning.

To make the dish's filling, stir in the refried beans. Spread smashed tortilla chips or taco shells across the bottom of the baking pan.

Add the meat mixture and a layer of shredded cheese. Bake the taco casserole until bubbling and the cheese has melted, then top with your preferred toppings and serve immediately.

Make taco night unique by trying taco noodles, taco soup, or this hearty and cheesy taco bake casserole. It has all of the delicious tastes of a casserole baked into one dish!

I normally use 90% lean ground beef, which provides a lot of flavor but isn't too fatty. If you select beef with a high fat content, make sure to drain any excess grease after cooking it.

I recommend grating your own cheese rather than using pre-shredded cheese. The packaged grated cheese is frequently coated with anti-caking chemicals and preservatives and does not melt as well as freshly shredded cheese.
