Sushi Popcorn Recipe
Butter popcorn is the quintessential movie snack. While I adore buttered popcorn, I also like to season it creatively.
Japanese flavors like togarashi and crushed nori enrich this sushi-inspired popcorn.
A salty, umami-packed snack will make you forgo sushi takeout.
As long as you butter the popcorn, use whatever is easiest. Purchase unpopped (or popped) popcorn or prepare your own stovetop popcorn to go all out.
INGREDIENTS
2 nori sheets (dried seaweed) 2 tablespoons roasted sesame seeds 1 Tbsp kosher salt
1 Tbsp. togarashi chili seasoning 8 c. popcorn (from 1/4 c. unpopped) 4 Tbsp. melted unsalted butter
Process nori, sesame seeds, salt, and togarashi into a powder in a food processor.
Toss popcorn and butter in a large bowl in step 2. Add nori mixture and stir again.
