Singapore Sling Recipe

The basic Singapore Sling recipe is light, refreshing, and fruity. This bubbly gin punch needs summer service.

However, this Singapore Sling recipe is a winner among gin beverages, regardless of the season.  

A barman at Raffles Hotel's Long Bar, Ngiam Tong Boon, may have invented the Singapore Sling over a century ago.

The cocktail has various variations since the 1930s, when the original recipe was lost. The best Singapore Slings combine tart, sweet, and delectable in a sparkling, fruity gin punch.  

Ingredients: - Ice cubes 2-ounce pineapple juice 1 1/2 oz gin 1/2 oz Benedictine 1/2 oz cherry liqueur  

Half-ounce Triple Sec 1/4 ounce grenadine Two dashes Angostura bitters Club soda Maraschino cherries  

Half-fill a shaker with ice. Mix pineapple juice, gin, Benedictine, cherry, Triple Sec, grenadine, and bitters. Cover and shake 10-15 seconds till condensation forms on shaker. Transfer to chilled sling glass and add club soda. Decorate with cherries.
