Lemon Curd Recipe

Last time I went to the supermarket with my kids, who wanted everything, they pointed out lemon curd. I almost reached for it but stopped. I don't need store-bought lemon curd because it's so easy, fresh, and tasty.  

My kids and spouse want lemon curd on everything when I prepare it. With so many lemon curd uses, make extra because it will disappear fast!  

Undoubtedly, lemon curd is tasty. However, homemade is superior than anything else. Once you make it, you'll find excuses to make it again!  

Ingredients

Lemon Curd Ingredients Squeeze genuine lemons to make fresh lemon juice. You'll also need genuine lemons to zest.  

Granulated sugar adds sweetness. Salt balances sweetness. Egg yolks—Gives it a lovely texture. Before using, let unsalted butter to room temperature.

Lemon curd is simple to make with few ingredients. Preparation and cooking are quick. Cooling takes patience, but it's worth it!  

A double-broiler effect requires a pot of simmering water over medium/medium-low heat and a heatproof dish on top. Whisk egg yolks, sugar, lemon juice, zest, and salt in the heatproof basin until combined.
