Today, I'd like to present an easy and trendy Korean recipe called Heart Matsal Jeon (하트 맛살전). It translates to "heart-shaped imitation crab omelette."
I'm not sure who came up with this inventive Korean side dish, but I adore how it looks so cute and pretty.
This will immediately appeal to anyone who enjoys crafting bento-style lunch boxes.
I first saw these heart-shaped fake crab omelettes on Instagram during the Korean harvest holiday (last week).
Korean pancakes, known as jeon (전), are commonly served during holidays. People cook stuffed Shiitake mushrooms as well as other types of pancakes around this season.
So when I saw some Koreans offering heart-shaped imitation crab omelettes, I thought they'd be a lot of fun to cook! So I decided to try it at home.
Making heart-shaped imitation crab sticks is not difficult, but it might be problematic since they may not be as flexible as desired.
Though the more you produce them, the more attractive your heart will be, so don't be disheartened if they aren't perfect on the first try!
