In comparison to the smoothies I now make, this recipe is extremely straightforward. However, this creamy beauty remains one of my favorites even today.
Over the years, I've discovered a plethora of new nutritious ingredients and began including them into my smoothie recipes.
I also discovered several new amazing flavor combinations and superfoods. So I improved the existing recipe and took it to the next level. That is also how this basic banana smoothie evolved.
Milk of choice. I used unsweetened almond milk, but this recipe can be made with any milk, dairy or plant-based.
It's apple season, so naturally, my fridge is stocked with apples. Every day, I find new ways to incorporate them into my meals.
Banana. It's high in essential nutrients, particularly gut-friendly fibers, is quite filling, and provides plenty of energy. I used an overripe banana.
Fresh ginger root. Ginger is recognized to have anti-inflammatory and antiviral effects. It's excellent for promoting digestion and immunity. In addition, ginger provided an incredible taste punch.
