INGREDIENTS 4 slices crusty bread (sourdough or baguette) 4 oz. softened goat cheese 4 sliced ripe figs Two tablespoons honey 1 Tbsp olive oil Optional garnish: fresh thyme or rosemary  

Optional crushed walnuts or almonds for topping Salt and pepper to taste Instructions: 1. Toast Bread: Brush bread slices with olive oil and toast in a skillet or oven for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crisp.  

2. Spread Goat Cheese: After toasting the bread, generously spread softened goat cheese on each piece. 3. Add Figs: Spread sliced figs on top of goat cheese. You can pile them decoratively or equally on toast.  

4. Add Honey: Drizzle honey on each toast to temper the tanginess of goat cheese. 5. For a crunchy texture, garnish with fresh thyme or rosemary and a handful of broken walnuts or almonds.
