Crispy Chili-Spiced Chickpeas Air-Fried

Air Fryer Crunchy Chili-Spiced Chickpeas provide snap to salads, creamy soups, and grain bowls.

Try replacing croutons in a Caesar, sprinkled over spinach soup, or folded into a spicy salmon bowl.  

However, they're also great in a bowl as an afternoon snack or with cocktails. Chickpeas can be mixed with heated popcorn for a protein-packed movie snack.   

Air fryers are ideal for crispy chickpeas because they remove moisture without adding fat. Chili powder adds flavor and spice to these chips.  

Mixing the spices in future batches is simple. Use za'atar or curry powder to sprinkle chickpeas over creamy hummus or Greek yogurt with cilantro and pickled red onions.  

INGREDIENTS 1 (15-oz.) can rinsed and drained chickpeas    1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil   2 tsp chili powder Kosher salt, 1/4 tsp Finely grated lime zest for serving

Use paper towels to dry chickpeas well. Mix chickpeas, oil, chili powder, and salt in a medium bowl.  

Step 2: Transfer chickpea mixture to air-fryer basket, scraping bowl to gather all oil. Cook 10–14 minutes at 370° until crispy and golden brown. Step 3: Serve chickpeas heated or room temperature. Grate lime zest on top.
