Tropical lychees have a rough fuchsia shell, sweet, translucent white flesh, and a dark brown seed.
Since fresh lychees are harder to acquire, we use canned ones in our recipe.
The juice and lychee fruit from the can are also used. A little vodka, dry vermouth, and fresh lime juice balance the fruit's sweetness for a refreshing summer drink.
IngredientsTwo ounces vodka
1 ounce Lychee juice—can
1/2 oz dry vermouth
1/2 lime juice
2 drained lychees
Half-fill a shaker with ice. Add vodka, juice, vermouth, and lime. Cover and shake 10-15 seconds till condensation forms on shaker.
Strain into martini glass. Add lychees.
